Edgar A. Mejia, a 49-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, has been sentenced to over 26 years in federal prison for his involvement in a heroin distribution conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms.
Mejia was convicted in March 2024 following a trial where he was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute heroin and possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking. This conviction stemmed from a search of his RV in October 2022, where law enforcement officers discovered a significant amount of heroin, a handgun, a rifle, and ammunition hidden within.

Prior to the trial, Mejia pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of firearms. His extensive criminal history includes prior state and federal felony convictions for drug and firearm offenses.
