Yolanda Ward, a 40-year-old former Supervisory Fee Management Specialist at Vicksburg National Military Park, pleaded guilty to theft of government funds.
Ward confessed to removing cash deposits from a safe and using the money for personal expenses, including bills and gambling, between 2017 and 2019. She also admitted to providing stolen funds to family members for gambling purposes.

Ward faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Her sentencing is scheduled for November 4, 2024.
The case was investigated by the Department of Interior Office of Inspector General and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Adam Stuart and Kimberly Purdie.
