Mississippi Woman Gets 40 Years After Killing Snapchat Friend, Stealing His Pickup Truck

A 22-year-old Mississippi woman, Sierra Jane Inscoe, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with 35 years to be served without the possibility of parole or early release, for the murder of 24-year-old Carson Sistrunk a man she met on Snapchat

The sentence was handed down by the Mississippi 15th Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell after Inscoe pleaded guilty to the murder.

The murder occurred on September 4, 2022. Inscoe fatally shot Sistrunk and then dumped his body in an oil field. His body was found on September 7, 2022.

Inscoe was arrested and indicted by a grand jury in August 2023.

Following the denial of bond, she was transferred to the Rankin County Detention Center, where she remained throughout the trial.
