The investigation revealed that the victim was asleep in bed when she awoke to find Brown attacking her with a knife.
Brown then attempted to start a fire inside the residence, police say. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While being questioned by detectives, Brown stated she had been planning to kill her mom because she found her to be a “weird bit*h” and accused her of “suppressing the black in her.”
Brown was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $1,250,000 bond by Judge Patano.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
