CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A missing person search uncovers a multistate double homicide, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.

Family members reported Jamie Macdonald missing to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) on May 12, 2024, after not seeing her since April 27, 2024. During the investigation, Citrus County residents Luequita and Duane Sclesky became persons of interest.

On May 20, a joint effort by HCSO and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) led to an interview at the Scleskys’ residence, where conflicting information about Macdonald’s whereabouts was provided.

Evidence gathered at the scene led to the discovery of a deceased male in Hernando County, later identified as Kenneth Zickendrath, who had been deceased for over a year.

Despite extensive searches in Citrus County, Macdonald remained missing. However, investigators uncovered evidence of the Scleskys using both Zickendrath’s and Macdonald’s bank accounts across both counties.

On June 14, Luequita Sclesky was arrested for fraud, while Duane Sclesky was arrested for a traffic infraction and drug offenses. Later that day, a second body was found in a Homosassa creek and identified as Macdonald.

Following interviews at the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, both Scleskys were charged with various crimes, including murder, fraud, and drug offenses.

Sheriff Prendergast expressed his concern for the victims, emphasizing that regardless of their lifestyle, they did not deserve such a fate. He encouraged anyone with information about missing loved ones associated with the Scleskys to contact either the CCSO or HCSO.

“Think about these victims; they may have lived a high-risk lifestyle, but they did not deserve to die like this,” said Sheriff Prendergast. “While there is no evidence at this time of other victims, if anyone out there has missing loved ones who were known associates of the Sclesky’s, do not hesitate to reach out to CCSO Double or HCSO to report your concerns.”

The Scleskys are currently held without bond at the Hernando County Detention Center, and further charges are expected.
