The body of a missing 2-year-old Shamar Windhom in Vero Beach was recovered from a pond late Tuesday night, according to an update from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Eric Flowers stated that the evidence suggests this incident is “just an absolute tragedy.”

Our prayers go out to Shamar’s family, loved ones, and community,” said the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in a statement Wednesday.
