A 47-year-old Minnesota woman, Connie Jo Frank, is accused of fatally stabbing her ex-boyfriend, Willard DeGroat, also 47, in Moorhead.
Police responded to a possible stabbing shortly after midnight on August 4th and found DeGroat with a stab wound to the chest. He later died at the hospital. Frank returned to the scene and was taken into custody.
According to reports, a witness heard the couple arguing, which escalated into a physical fight. Frank’s son was called for help, but when they returned, DeGroat had been stabbed, and Frank had fled.

She also reportedly made incriminating statements while being transported to jail, saying, “I stabbed his ass” and “I would kill him again, and “Someone had to end it.”
Police recovered a knife near the scene and obtained surveillance video showing Frank shouting at DeGroat and DeGroat calling for help.
