Yoshi R. Walker, a 26-year-old from Minnesota, has been sentenced to 6 years in federal prison for his role in supplying fentanyl to a large-scale drug trafficking operation based in Madison, Wisconsin. Walker pleaded guilty to the charge of attempting to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl in April 2024.

The investigation, initiated in January 2022, uncovered a network responsible for bringing over 4 kilograms of fentanyl pills into Madison from Arizona.

Undercover officers made numerous purchases from members of the organization, and Walker was identified as an out-of-state supplier. In October 2022, law enforcement intercepted a package mailed by Walker containing 1.75 kilograms of fentanyl pills.

During sentencing, Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson emphasized the severity of the crime due to the large quantity and dangerous nature of fentanyl involved. Walker’s sentence will be followed by 3 years of supervised release.

Several co-defendants have already been sentenced for their involvement in the drug trafficking ring, including Lloyd M. McKire-Bennett, the leader of the Madison organization. Three additional individuals are facing charges, with two having pleaded guilty and one awaiting trial.
