Anthony Bradell McMillan, 37, of Norton Shores, has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Jane M. Beckering, also includes three years of supervised release.
McMillan’s sentence reflects his history of domestic violence and illegal possession of a firearm, which factored into the judge’s decision to deny his request for a shorter sentence.

U.S. Attorney Mark Totten emphasized the importance of addressing drug trafficking and domestic violence, stating, “Disrupting the flow of poisons that are taking so many lives and protecting victims of gender-based violence are central to our mission.”
The case against McMillan stemmed from a January 21st incident where police responded to reports of domestic abuse at his home. Officers found McMillan’s injured girlfriend, who confirmed the abuse and revealed that McMillan had threatened her with a pistol.
A search warrant yielded a substantial amount of drugs, including over 2,700 methamphetamine pills and over 100 grams of cocaine, as well as a firearm.
McMillan pleaded guilty in April to the charge of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. The case was investigated by the DEA, Norton Shores Police Department, Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office, and Muskegon Heights Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joel Fauson.
