Jarrett Howard, 56, of Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses committed in Madison County, Kentucky.
U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell handed down the sentence on Wednesday, following Howard’s conviction on charges of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of firearms as a convicted felon, and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Evidence presented at trial revealed that law enforcement received information in November 2021 linking Howard to fentanyl distribution in Madison County.
A subsequent search of his residence uncovered 285 grams of fentanyl, 416 grams of cocaine, two loaded firearms, a digital scale, and $34,450 in cash.
Howard is mandated to serve 85 percent of his sentence under federal law. Following his release, he will be subject to eight years of supervised release by the U.S. Probation Office.

The sentencing was jointly announced by various law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky, the DEA Louisville and Detroit Field Divisions, the ATF Louisville Field Division, the Kentucky State Police, the Richmond Police Department, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between these agencies, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Greenfield prosecuted the case.
