After the murder, Ross hid her body and fled the scene with her credit cards, prescription drugs, and vehicle. He was later apprehended in Prescott, MI, in possession of one of the murder weapons and the victim’s belongings.
Ross was convicted of first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence without parole, along with several other charges: larceny from a building (a four-year felony), unlawful driving away a motor vehicle (a five-year felony), and stealing a financial transaction device without consent (a four-year felony).

“The medical examiner described the suffering endured by the victim as nothing short of torture. No one should have to endure that, especially at the hands of someone they trusted. We are grateful to the jury for delivering justice, and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family as they continue to deal with this tragic loss,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
His sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Sabaugh.
