A 54-year-old Michigan man was arraigned and faces life in prison for allegedly killing his roommate over a Taco Bell dispute.
According to police, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Mark Newsome, 54, of Roseville, was in a verbal altercation with his 72-year-old roommate, which escalated into a physical altercation.
Newsome punched the victim, Dale Mitchell, in the head several times. Mitchell died of his injuries.

“Oh God, it scared the hell out of me, it really did,” their roommate Bob McQuade told Fox 2 Detriot.
“There was blood all over upstairs,” another roommate, Larry Melton, told the outlet.
The roommates at the boarding house told Fox 2 that Newsome accused Mitchell of stealing his Taco Bell.
Newsome is being charged with Second Degree Murder (life felony).
He was arraigned in Roseville District Court, where District Court Judge Kathleen Tocco denied bond. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 8:30 am, and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 8:30 am by District Court Judge Joseph Boedecker.
