Michigan Man Charged In The Brutal Assault And Death Of His 9-Month Old Daughter

A Michigan man has been charged in connection with the homicide of 9-month-old Kinsley Evans.

Charles Evans, 24, is the father of the infant.

According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, on June 26, 2023, at approximately 11:16 a.m., at a residence in the 12200 block of Schaefer Highway in Detroit, it is alleged that Charles Evans fatally assaulted the infant victim.

Medics arrived on the scene and transported Kinsley to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on March 16, 2024.

Charles Evans has been charged with Felony Murder and First-Degree Child Abuse.

“Baby Kinsley lived a very short life of pain. The alleged facts are unbelievably tragic in this case. The injuries inflicted on this nine-month-old baby are too numerous to fathom,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned and remanded to jail on March 17, 2024, in 36th District Court.

The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 27, 2024, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 3, 2024, before Judge Kenneth King.
