An Elvis impersonator from Michigan has been arrested after police say he was caught with a 16-year-old runaway teen from New York in a Pennsylvania motel.
Matthew James Chantelois, 45, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Erie on federal charges relating to the sexual exploitation of children.
According to the indictment, “in and around October 2023 to in and around January 2024, Chantelois used, persuaded, induced, and enticed a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of that conduct.”

According to a report by GoErie.com at 4 a.m. on January 24th, the incident occurred at a motel in Summit Township, Pennsylvania.
The outlet reported that Pennsylvania State Troopers discovered Chantelois in the company of a 16-year-old girl from New York who was reported as a runaway and unclothed.
The girl informed the police that she had encountered Chantelois several months prior on social media. According to the report, she claimed he provided her with vodka, and they shared nude pictures.
The indictment also charges Chantelois with possessing and transporting child sexual abuse material in interstate commerce.
Chantelois faces a maximum total sentence of not less than 15 years and up to 60 years in prison, a fine of up to $750,000, or both.
