We know that Democrats get worked up about “foreign interference” in American elections when they lose. But let’s see if they’ll complain when such interference would help them gain power.

Somehow, the answer is assuredly no.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who is known by the initials AMLO, vowed on Thursday to launch a PR campaign in America targeting GOP candidates for defeat if they continue calls for using force against drug lords south of the border.

“We are not going to permit any foreign government to intervene in our territory, much less that a government’s armed forces intervene,” AMLO said during a press conference, according to NBC News.

His remarks came just days after a drug cartel kidnapped four Americans in a border town, and killed two of them.

As The Free Press has reported, several Republicans — including Reps. Matt Gaetz of Fort Walton Beach and Mike Waltz of St. Augustine, as well as Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham — have advocated military strikes on the headquarters of Mexican drug lords.

“I’d put Mexico on notice — if you continue to give a safe haven to fentanyl drug dealers, then you are an enemy of the United States,” Graham recently told Fox News.

I would tell the Mexican government, ‘If you don’t clean up your act, we’re going to clean it up for you.’”

In his press conference, according to NBC, AMLO declared, “In addition to being irresponsible, it is an offense to the people of Mexico,” adding that his nation “does not take orders from anyone.”

AMLO claimed, “Here, we do not produce fentanyl, and we do not have consumption of fentanyl. Why don’t they (the United States) take care of their problem of social decay?”

NBC further reported, “López Obrador said he would begin a public information campaign aimed at Mexicans in the U.S. about the

Republican-led proposal. If Republican lawmakers try to ‘use Mexico for their propagandist, electoral and political purposes, we will make a call to not vote for that party,’ López Obrador said.”

To which Gaetz responded on Twitter: “Foreign Interference.”
