TAMPA, Fla. – Miguel Gomez-Rosales, 40, a Mexican national, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States after being deported. U.S. District Judge Richard A. Lazzara handed down the sentence following Gomez-Rosales’ guilty plea on November 13, 2024.
Court documents reveal that Gomez-Rosales was previously convicted of lewd or lascivious battery on July 16, 2012, and subsequently deported to Mexico. Despite this, he illegally reentered the United States.

The case was investigated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ross Roberts.
