Mexican National Indicted In Florida For Illegal Re-Entry After Deportation

A Mexican national has been indicted on charges of illegally re-entering the United States after being previously deported. Maico Miguel Perez, 27, was found in Duval County on September 2, 2024, after having been deported on November 23, 2022.

According to the indictment, Perez was arrested in Duval County on a local warrant. He had not received permission from the Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to re-enter the United States.

If convicted, Perez faces a maximum penalty of two years in federal prison.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kelli Swaney.
