TARPON SPRINGS, FL. – Police say a Director of Phoenix Medical Management Care Center has been arrested for extorting a patient with sexual favors.
On January 12, 2022, The Tarpon Springs Police Department received a complaint from an adult female, who is a patient at the Phoenix Medical Pain Management clinic, located at 1779 S. Pinellas Ave. Tarpon Springs.
According to police, the victim told detectives that she was contacted by the Director of Operations, Christopher Ferguson, advising her she had a positive drug result, in regards to one of her routine submissions, while under care at this facility.
Ferguson, the defendant in this case, directed the victim over the course of approximately 9 days, to respond to the care center and repeat several samples to be tested to keep her status as a patient.
Ferguson subsequently made follow-up contacts with the victim, saying there were problems with her additional test results.
During this time, Christopher Ferguson began contacting the victim, outside of normal operating business hours, from his personal phone and directed the victim to respond to the location of Phoenix Medical Pain Management, in the evening and nighttime hours after the close of the business.
Police say this is where he ultimately extorted her by directing the female victim to perform sexual favors for him in exchange for keeping her from being discharged from the practice, as a patient.
During the course of this investigation, detectives arrested Christopher Paul Ferguson, the Director of Operations of Phoenix Medical Management clinic for one count of Extortion.
