HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office had to wake up Tiffany McLain, 40, who was apparently having a very deep sleep just beyond the drive-thru window of a McDonald’s on U.S. Highway 41 in Apollo Beach early Thursday.
Perhaps she was dreaming of those delicious fries, but unfortunately, she was also behind the wheel of her car. And when deputies roused her, she even put the car into drive and started pulling away.
Breath samples revealed McLain was more than twice the legal limit, blowing a 0.190 and 0.195. To make matters worse, this wasn’t her first DUI rodeo, and she was driving on a suspended license. Talk about a McFlurry of bad decisions.
“This type of irresponsibility infuriates me,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “She could have seriously injured others with her ridiculous decision to get behind the wheel intoxicated. I commend our deputies for their swift handling of this potentially dangerous interaction.”
Don’t drink and drive, and definitely don’t fall asleep at the drive-thru. Your late-night cravings aren’t worth risking your life or someone else’s.
