Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy

McCarthy Expands His List Of Democrats Who Will Be Booted From Committee Assignments

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has expanded the list of Democrats he wants to boot from committees when, or if, he becomes the next House speaker.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has expanded the list of Democrats he wants to boot from committees when, or if, he becomes the next House speaker.

As The Free Press reported on Sunday, McCarthy over the weekend promised the Republican Jewish Coalition that radical Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar would be dropped from the Foreign Affairs Committee for her anti-Semitic comments while in Congress.

The Washington Times reported later on Sunday, citing “people close to” the Republican leader that McCarthy will also strip Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee.

For most of former President Donald Trump’s term, Schiff, a prominent Trump critic, claimed to have secret intelligence that Trump had colluded with Russian operatives. That claim was rendered absurd when Special Counsel Robert Muelle declared no Americans, including Trump, actively worked with Russians to get the former host of “The Apprentice” elected.

Meanwhile, before Trump left office, it was revealed that Swalwell had worked with, and possibly had a romantic relationship, with a woman who was a Chinese spy. Swalwell reportedly informed American intelligence agencies of her background before she fled the country.

The Times noted Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi established the precedent of removing members of the opposing party from their assigned committees when she kicked GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Paul Gosar of Arizona off their panels over what the Times called “incendiary online posts and rhetoric.”

Yet unlike Pelosi, McCarthy will only axe Omar, Schiff, and Swalwell from their premier assignments.

But to do all that, McCarthy still must convince the 30 or so Trump enthusiasts on the GOP side who rejected him as the new speaker that he will listen to them and support their causes in order to secure their help to be elected as the leader of the House.
