Mayor Of St. Petersburg Declares State Of Emergency

On Sunday evening Mayor Ken Welch signed an order declaring a State of Local Emergency for the City of St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – On Sunday evening Mayor Ken Welch signed an order declaring a State of Local Emergency for the City of St. Petersburg.

The City is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Ian and urges all residents to begin their personal storm plans to prepare their homes and families.

All sandbag locations will resume operations and crews will be on hand to assist the public at 8 a.m. on Monday.

City crews continue to work to harden city facilities in preparation for Tropical Storm Ian.

All City services will remain open to the public on Monday until further notice.
