Conservative commentator Matt Walsh argued this week that many liberals are beyond just wanting to silence conservatives by denying them a slot on talk radio, television, social media, or podcast.

Quite literally, he said, they want conservatives to die.

Walsh made the comments in response to a fan’s remark on his podcast on Tuesday.

The day before those remarks, Walsh had recounted a devastating breach of his cellphone that occurred last week. A hacker was able to access years of Walsh’s private material, including emails, texts, and social media direct messages that went back two decades. They even got his family photos.

Liberals cheered the invasion of his privacy, even as it was a crime, Walsh said. That’s because they believe he deserved it.

He also recounted the many times liberals, especially transgender activists and their supporters, have threatened his life in the 11 months since the release of his documentary, “What is a Woman?”

He mentioned one that occurred last week. A Reddit user asserted that Walsh should be “bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat.”

“And the thing is that this is not the sentiment of just one random weirdo on Reddit,” Walsh continued. “There is a wide consensus on the left that I deserve to be killed, and they have made that point abundantly clear.”

But on Tuesday, he noted that in fact that sentiment applies to all conservatives who dare to challenge liberal orthodoxy.

“If we’re talking on an individual basis, you know, the average person who will send you a death threat, for example, they’re not serious,” alsh said in response to a follower’s comment. “They’re hiding behind their computer in their mom’s basement, all the cliches. … (V)ery often that’s actually true. And they’re not gonna do anything. It’s just a lot of bluster.”

Yet, generally, leftists are serious when they think their opponents or critics “have no right to anything,” said Walsh.

“You have no right to express yourself. You have no right to a platform. You have no right to be heard. And also you, you have no right to live.”

“They really do believe that,” he continued.

“I know we don’t want to accept this because of what it says about so many of our fellow Americans, but it is actually the case,” Walsh continued.

“For many people on the left, if you oppose them, especially on issues related to gender and sexuality, the things that are closest to them — the most important parts of the leftist religion — if you oppose them on that, many of them think that your life is meaningless, that there’s nothing that could happen to you that would be tragic, that would be undeserved.”

Walsh offered the remarks just a few weeks after a woman who identified as a man shot up a Christian school in Nashville, killing six, including three children.
