A jury has found Christine Ricci, 49, guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her husband, Boston firefighter Michael Ricci, in January 2021.
The verdict was reached after five days of evidence and two-and-a-half hours of deliberation.
Prosecutors argued that Ricci stabbed her husband during an argument at their Marshfield home, puncturing his heart and back. Ricci claimed self-defense, stating that she grabbed a knife out of fear and didn’t realize she had stabbed her husband until he fell.

The jury rejected Ricci’s claim of self-defense, finding her guilty of both second-degree murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She is scheduled to be sentenced on August 22 in Plymouth Superior Court.
The Boston Fire Department expressed its condolences, stating that Michael Ricci was a valued member for 23 years and will be deeply missed.
