According to court documents, on February 19, 2024, three masked individuals, armed with semi-automatic pistols, stormed a convenience store in Plant City, demanding money from the clerk and emptying the register. Surveillance footage captured their arrival and departure in a black SUV.
Investigators linked the convenience store robbery to a similar incident at a Lakeland pizza place just days earlier. On February 22nd, Lakeland Police officers pulled over a black SUV and arrested Black.
The case was investigated by the Lakeland Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Diego F. Novaes.
