Olona Roba, currently enjoying the hospitality of the United States Penitentiary Hazelton, West Virginia, and his pen pal Sakile G. Fiddermon, presumably with more freedom in Fort Washington, Maryland, have found themselves in a bit of a sticky situation.

It seems their correspondence went beyond friendly letters, with the pair now facing charges for allegedly conspiring to smuggle a veritable pharmacy into the prison.

According to the indictment, Fiddermon was allegedly playing the role of delivery person, attempting to get heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and suboxone past the prison guards and into Roba’s eager hands.

It appears that the old “cake with a file baked inside” trick just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Flower is tasked with untangling this web of alleged criminal correspondence, while the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the FBI try to figure out how to keep illicit substances out of their facilities.

Of course, it’s important to remember that an indictment is just an accusation, and both Roba and Fiddermon are presumed innocent until proven guilty. But one thing’s for sure: their pen pal relationship has taken a decidedly less wholesome turn.
