Maryland Man Sentenced To Over 6 Years For D.C. Bank Robbery

Ronald Lamont Jenkins, a 36-year-old from Temple Hills, Maryland, has been sentenced to 77 months in prison for the armed robbery of a TD Bank in Northeast Washington D.C. in June 2022. He was also ordered to pay $8,345 in restitution.

Jenkins pleaded guilty to the bank robbery charge in May 2024. According to court documents, Jenkins entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and stole over $8,000 from a teller.

Investigators used surveillance footage and recovered discarded clothing items, including a sweat-soaked sweatshirt and gloves, to track Jenkins’ movements. DNA evidence from these items linked Jenkins to the bank robbery, as well as a previous robbery at a Lowe’s store in Bowie, Maryland.

Jenkins was arrested in November 2023. The case was investigated by the FBI and the Metropolitan Police Department, with assistance from the FBI Laboratory and the Prince George’s County Police Department.
