United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced Monday that Davonta McCrorey, 25, of Baltimore, Maryland, has pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting federal correctional officers.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in March 2024 while McCrorey was an inmate at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Sumter County, Florida.

According to court records, on March 16, 2024, McCrorey violently exited his cell and repeatedly struck two federal correctional officers in the face, resulting in injuries. Subsequently, McCrorey resisted attempts by other officers to restrain him by verbally threatening them and biting one officer on the hand.
