Star Wars icon Mark Hamill, known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker, graced the White House press briefing room with his presence Friday.

But this wasn’t just any ordinary visit—Hamill came bearing a special gift for the Commander-in-Chief and a playful new nickname that has captured the imagination of sci-fi and political enthusiasts alike.

When Hamill first met President Joe Biden, he politely addressed him as “Mr. President.” However, the actor couldn’t resist the temptation to add a touch of Star Wars flair to the encounter. “And he said, ‘You can call me Joe,'” Hamill recounted to the press corps. “And I said, ‘Can I call you Joebi-Wan Kenobi?’ He liked that.”

“I only expected to be there for like five minutes,” he said of their meeting. “He showed us all these photographs. He was really amazing to me.”

He added, “I want to say once again how grateful I am. It just shows you how one person can be so influential and so positive in our lives and, again, thank you so much.”
