Presumed Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said over the weekend that Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene would get back the committee assignments she lost after a tantrum by Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
On Monday Elon Musk gave MTG her Twitter account back.
Musk reversed the ban on Greene’s personal account that the previous Twitter had permanently banned in January.
“I’m the only Member of Congress the unelected big tech oligarchs permanently banned,” she wrote upon being allowed back on the platform. “On January 2, 2022, they violated my freedom of speech and ability to campaign & fundraise crying ‘covid misinformation.’ My account is back.”
Leftists, naturally, went into full meltdown mode, muttering about Greene being an “insurrectionist,” a “conspiracy theorist” and other slurs.
Undoubtedly, many of these responses come from the election deniers who spread lies about former President Donald Trump colluding with Russian operatives and who supported Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots.
Nonetheless, as Greene noted, she was smacked by Twitter for “misinformation” about COVID. That involved a tweet about “extremely high amounts” of deaths among the vaccinated.
Yet as The Free Press reported in January, Greene’s last tweet before she got the boot was about Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Radical Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused DeSantis of being “inexplicably missing” for a couple of weeks last December.
It turned out that DeSantis was accompanying his wife, Casey, as she battled breast cancer.
Around the same time as her tweet, AOC had fled her home state, New York, as COVID cases spiked to vacation in Miami.
In response to AOC, MTG posted, “@AOC have you apologized to @GovRonDeSantis yet? He has been at his wife’s side while she is undergoing treatments for breast cancer. Since you have a history of demanding apologies, it’s time for you to put down the martinis in Miami and apologize to Gov DeSantis.”
The tweet included screenshots of news reports of times AOC has in fact demanded apologies from others.
In reply to Greene on Monday, her close ally, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, tweeted, “They banned MTG because they fear her. Glad she’s back – but never forget it!”
