MARATHON, Fla. – A 26-year-old Marathon man has been arrested after driving recklessly on U.S. 1, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Emilio Jesus Gelot-Cruz was charged with resisting arrest and reckless driving.
Deputies were alerted to a gray, four-door sedan speeding and passing multiple vehicles near Mile Marker 74 around 11:15 p.m.

Deputies observed Gelot-Cruz’s vehicle using the center lane to pass other motorists, demonstrating a pattern of dangerous driving. He was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
