MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 58-year-old Marathon man was arrested early Tuesday morning after leading deputies on a chase down U.S. 1.
Bruce Barton Coles faces charges of fleeing and eluding, DUI, and resisting arrest.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed Coles’ Nissan pickup truck committing multiple traffic violations in Marathon around 1 a.m. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, Coles refused and fled.

The pursuit eventually ended on Aviation Boulevard, where Coles was taken into custody. He reportedly refused to comply with deputies’ commands and was subsequently transported to jail.
