MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and woman from Marathon, Florida, were arrested Monday on drug charges following a Sheriff’s Office investigation.

Shayon Leander Bryant, 50, faces charges of cocaine sale, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Melissa Marie Matie, 37, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell.

Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Detectives encountered the suspects in Marathon while addressing previous drug-related charges and warrants. At the time of their arrest, Bryant was found in possession of 24.9 grams of cocaine (crack and powder), while Matie possessed 1.4 grams of powdered cocaine.
