A man wanted in connection with three homicides in Oklahoma and Alabama was apprehended in Arkansas on Thursday morning, ending a multi-state manhunt.

Stacy Lee Drake, 50, was located and arrested in Morrilton, Arkansas, by the Morrilton Police Department and Arkansas State Police. Drake had been the subject of an extensive search after authorities linked him to three killings in Oklahoma and an additional homicide in Alabama.

“We want to thank all agencies who assisted in locating this individual,” the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said in a statement. The arrest followed a warning issued by Arkansas State Police to residents in and around Morrilton, urging them to be vigilant as Drake was believed to be in the area.

The suspect’s last known address was in Birmingham, Alabama, but authorities in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, reported that he had spent several days in their community recently. Drake was found to have purchased camping gear, suggesting he was prepared to remain in the Morrilton area.

The investigation into the homicides is ongoing, and authorities have not released details regarding the circumstances surrounding the killings or Drake’s alleged involvement. However, his apprehension brings a sense of relief to the affected communities, as a dangerous fugitive is now in custody.

Drake is currently being held in Arkansas, awaiting extradition proceedings. He will likely face charges in both Oklahoma and Alabama related to the homicides.
