TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – A man has died after being shot in Tarpon Springs on Friday morning.
Tarpon Springs Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at 1208 N. Pinellas Ave at approximately 9:40 a.m. On arrival, officers found a male with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the injured man to Bayonet Point Hospital. However, he later died from his wound.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Authorities are stating that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department is continuing its investigation.
