Man Arrested In Spring Hill After Hitting Boyfriend During Argument

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A school resource deputy working patrol makes a domestic battery arrest, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Tarrytown Drive in Spring Hill in reference to a domestic battery.

A school resource deputy who was working patrol while the school was out of session made contact with the male victim.

The victim said his live-in boyfriend, Jack Gaskins Jr., 69, struck him in the back of the head with his hand during an argument.

The victim told investigators that Gaskins was previously arrested on December 17, 2023, on a charge of domestic battery committed against the victim’s adult son.

As a result of this arrest, the court issued a no-contact order to the son of the victim, who also lives in the home.

Gaskins said he was aware of the no-contact order when he entered the residence and told investigators that the victim invited him to stay and eat. While in the house, Gaskins said he was involved in an argument with the victim over finances when he flicked the victim on the back of the head.

Gaskins was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery and Violation of a Pre-trial Release.

He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where he’s being held on a no bond status.
