SPRING HILL, Fla. – In a significant operation on September 20, 2024, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Vice and Narcotics Unit, supported by the SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Ashland Drive in Spring Hill.

The search led to the arrest of Steven Cline, a known gang member, and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, seven firearms, body armor, and a ballistic shield.

Cline attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended at a neighbor’s house. He confessed to owning all the seized items, including the shield and body armor, which he admitted were obtained through a trade for narcotics. This bust was the culmination of a months-long investigation, including several traffic stops linked to the residence that resulted in arrests for methamphetamine trafficking.

Cline faces numerous charges, including possession of various narcotics, firearms, and paraphernalia. Ashley Dawn Cline, also present at the scene, was arrested for violating her probation and drug-related offenses. Additionally, Darrell Floyd Kearce was charged with marijuana and paraphernalia possession.

The successful operation involved multiple HCSO units, including Vice and Narcotics, SWAT, K9, Forensics, District Deputies, and COPPS.
