A 31-year-old Maine man has been sentenced to 35 months in prison for distributing cocaine base (crack cocaine).

Devonne Scott of Auburn received his sentence in U.S. District Court in Portland today, following his guilty plea in September 2024. U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. also imposed three years of supervised release following Scott’s prison term.

According to court records, the investigation began in July 2023 when a confidential informant alerted the FBI that Scott had agreed to sell them crack cocaine. In August 2023, the informant conducted two controlled purchases of the substance from Scott.

These transactions were closely monitored and videotaped by the FBI and law enforcement partners. Subsequent laboratory tests confirmed that the substances purchased contained cocaine base.

This case highlights the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies to combat drug trafficking. The investigation was conducted by the FBI, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Lewiston Police Department.
