MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 46-year-old man from Key West, Florida, was arrested on Wednesday evening after causing a scene at the Tavernier Towne Center.
Deputies say Steven Dexter Bennett is facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamines, disorderly conduct, battery, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a man, later identified as Bennett, yelling at shoppers and attempting to sell them methamphetamine around 6:20 p.m.
Bennett also threw a beer bottle at someone, but no serious injuries were reported.

Upon his arrest, Bennett was found to be in possession of 14.8 grams of meth, a scale, pipes, and a machete.
He was taken to Monroe County Jail.
