TAMPA, Fla. – A serious crash involving a tractor-trailer and a Jeep Grand Cherokee occurred on Monday afternoon, leaving one driver hospitalized with significant injuries.
At approximately 12:05 PM, a tractor-trailer driven by a 31-year-old Tampa man was traveling northbound on the ramp connecting Interstate 75 NB to Interstate 4. The vehicle struck the inside concrete barrier, causing the trailer to overturn.
As the trailer toppled, it detached and fell onto US-92 (Hillsborough Avenue), colliding with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 61-year-old woman from Lutz.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the incident. However, the driver of the Jeep sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision. The overturned trailer caused significant traffic disruptions in the area as crews worked to clear the roadway.
