PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 72-year-old Lutz man has been arrested for DUI manslaughter following a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Wednesday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:30 PM on US-41 at the intersection of Lake Floyd Drive. William Edward Ricks, 72, was driving a Ford Escape southbound on US-41 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Lake Floyd Drive.

Troopers say he turned directly into the path of an oncoming Suzuki motorcycle, driven by a 26-year-old man from Largo.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. Ricks was arrested at the scene after troopers determined he was impaired. He is now facing charges of DUI manslaughter.
