Louisiana Rep. Higgins Says FBI Deployed “At Least” 200 Of Its Informants In The J6 Crowd

The release of more than 40,000 hours of video footage of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol is unraveling the well-traveled narrative about the incident.

In just one piece of the footage, U.S. Capitol Police were shown firing pepper balls and teargas at protesters, which in turn encouraged them to act to stop the police violence.

The account spun so well by Democrats in Congress and liberals in the media may take another hit after Rep. Clay Higgins suggested the FBI had as many as 200 confidential informants in the crowd that day.

In an interview with Newsmax host Chris Salcedo, Higgins, a Louisiana Republican, said, “The FBI was not only involved in the actions on January 6th from within. They had, I suspect, over 200 agents embedded within the crowd, including agents or, as they would call it, human assets inside the Capitol dressed as [former President Donald] Trump supporters before the doors were opened.”

Higgins further stated that the FBI had “infiltrated” pro-Trump groups on social media and the internet long before the riot occurred.

“When you track the communications within those groups, you find the origins of suggestions of potential violence or an act of occupation of the Capitol on January 6th,” said Higgins, “you’ll find that those messages were led by members of the groups that ended up to be the FBI agents that had infiltrated those groups.”

“The FBI’s involvement was deep, not just on J6, but on the days, and weeks and months prior,” Higgins added.

Higgins’ revelation seemed to undercut FBI Director Christopher Wray.

At a House hearing earlier this month, Higgins asked Wray about the FBI’s provocateurs participating in the riot.

“No,” Wray insisted.
