A Louisiana mother is facing charges after allegedly throwing her 6-month-old child in a trash can during a fight outside a Walmart on Saturday afternoon.
According to Eunice Police, officers responded to reports of a fight involving multiple women at the Walmart around 3:30 pm.
Upon arrival, they found the fight had ended, but detained the women involved.

Investigators allege that during the altercation, 38-year-old Brionka Benjamin, who was holding her infant child at the time, threw the baby into a nearby trash can. Thankfully, the child was not injured.
Benjamin has been charged with simple battery and cruelty to juveniles. Her niece, 20-year-old Makatelynn Benjamin, was also arrested on charges of simple battery stemming from the fight.
Police have not released any information regarding the cause of the fight. The child was reportedly released to other family members uninjured.
