PASCO COUNTY- Idle is word that we have become accustomed to over the past 2-months. With the Safer-At-Home orders in place, but soon expiring, being somewhat idle and socially distant, will be a thing of the past.
Meet Tony Calimano, a 49-year-old Land O’ Lakes resident, that’s taking his message public and branding it for others to benefit from. Calimano is a long-time healthcare worker in the radiology field and now works in sales and marketing in the healthcare industry.
“My Dad used to say that an idle mind is a devil’s playground, and it wasn’t until I was an adult that I truly understood what he meant by this. What I realized he was trying to tell me was that one should always grow in their thinking and give one-hundred-percent in everything they do.”, says Calimano
So was born, Never Stay idle. A brand that Calimano built to motivate others in fitness, sports, and recreation.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has for many, created cabin fever and put some folks in an idle state. Never Stay idle is meant to motivate, use your mind to achieve and overcome,” says Calimano.
Currently, Never Stay idle, is forming partnerships with basketball leagues in Maryland and hope to partner with youth leagues here in the Tampa Bay area. Their merchandising sales will benefit also benefit foundations along the way.
“We have an online portal with our merchandise for sale. A portion of proceeds from all sales will benefit the Give Back , Bob Carr foundation, which we are proud to support,” says Calimano.
Give Something Back (Give Back) provides college scholarships and mentoring to students who have faced economic hardship and other adversities such as foster care or the incarceration of a parent.
