POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lithia woman’s plan to resell stolen jewelry for a profit was thwarted Saturday when she was caught shoplifting at a Walmart in Mulberry.
53-year-old Gina Williams was apprehended by Walmart staff after attempting to leave the store with approximately $77 worth of jewelry and other merchandise concealed in her purse.

When questioned by a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy, Williams admitted to stealing the items with the intention of reselling them at a higher price. She also confessed that she had underestimated the vigilance of Walmart’s security.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where she was charged with retail theft.
