LITHIA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a fire at a manufactured home off Pritcher Road in Lithia on Monday, where three people died.

A 911 call was received at 1:02 PM this afternoon from an individual reporting the fire. Dispatchers also determined that there were three individuals still inside the house.

HCFR’s Engine 2 arrived at the scene, reporting heavy fire conditions.

They quickly approached the residence for rescue efforts, but when they attempted to make entry, they were met with heavy fire and extreme heat as a roof collapsed.

Crews cooled the environment with water and searched the residence.

They removed one adult male from the residence and assessed him outside the house, but he had succumbed to his injuries.

Crews continued to battle the blaze and found two children who had also succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.

One other adult and one child patient were transported to a local trauma center in stable condition.

“There were no reported injuries to first responders. Our fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire,” said HCFR.
