Lightning Trim Training Camp Roster, Make Several Assignments And Releases

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning have streamlined their training camp roster, reducing it by 18 players. The team now has 35 players remaining as they gear up for the 2023-24 season.

Key Roster Moves

  • Assigned to Syracuse (AHL): Dylan Duke, Jaydon Dureau, Lucas Edmonds, Dyllan Gill, Niko Huuhtanen, Milo Roelens, Roman Schmidt, Lukas Svejkovsky, and Gabriel Szturc.
  • Released from PTOs: Gabriel Dumont, Ryan Fanti, Tyson Feist, Brandon Halverson, Kale Kessy, Jujhar Khaira, Joel Teasdale, Daniel Walcott, and Scott Walford.

Additionally, Kyle Chyzowski, Jan Golicic, Ethan Hay, Kaden Pitre, Harrison Meneghin, and Jace Weir were previously released from camp.

Current Lightning Camp Roster

The updated roster includes 20 forwards, 12 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders. Notable names include veterans like Steven Stamkos, Victor Hedman, and Andrei Vasilevskiy, alongside new additions like Conor Geekie and Brandon Hagel.

With training camp winding down, the Lightning are getting closer to finalizing their opening night roster. The remaining players will continue to compete for spots as the preseason progresses.
