Liberty Mutual Holding Co. announced on Monday that its insurance companies expect losses between $800 million and $900 million due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Hurricane Helene:

  • Estimated losses: $550 million
  • Made landfall in Taylor County, Florida on September 26th.
  • Caused significant damage along Florida’s Gulf Coast and flooding in other states including Georgia and North Carolina.

Hurricane Milton:

  • Estimated losses: $250 million to $350 million
  • Made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Sarasota County, Florida on October 9th.
  • Tracked across Florida, maintaining hurricane strength.

The company emphasized that these are preliminary estimates based on reported claims and industry models. Actual losses could differ as claims continue to be processed.
