HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 14-year-old Eli James Lurvey, a student at Lennard High School, after he made threats on social media to “shoot up” the school.
The HCSO’s School Threat Assessment and Response Team swiftly responded to the student’s residence and took Lurvey into custody.

Detectives currently do not believe that Lurvey had access to any firearms.
Lurvey has been charged with threatening to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
