Mitchell Regan, 36, of Leesburg, has been arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with possession of child sexual abuse material. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at Regan’s residence on October 17, 2024, and discovered an image of child sexual abuse material on his cellphone. Regan admitted to sending and receiving such material through a social media application.

He also disclosed that he is currently employed at Hunters Creek Middle School and the Boys and Girls Club, where he teaches chess club and music lessons.
This case is being investigated by HSI and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg. It is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
