PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Largo woman is facing a grand theft charge after being caught on camera stealing a valuable exotic bird from a pet store in Oldsmar.
On September 7th, deputies responded to a theft report at Everything Birds, located in the Oldsmar Flea Market.

The store owners reported that a woman had taken a Black Headed Caique, valued at $2,400, from a customer interaction area and concealed it in her purse before leaving the store.
Surveillance footage of the incident was shared with local news outlets, leading to two anonymous tips identifying the suspect as 54-year-old Grissel Flores Nistal.

Detectives contacted Nistal at her Largo residence, and she agreed to return the bird. She was subsequently arrested and charged with felony grand theft. The bird was returned to its owner in good health.
